Two tankers hijacked

2 tankers have been attacked in the Gulf of Guinea in the last days (07.10.2012). Pirate activity off the West African coast is growing every day.

2 days ago the crude oil products tanker, owned by Greece’s Grace Management Orfeas disappeared off Abidjan in the Ivory Coast.

The Orfeas had to carry out 2 ship-ti-ship (STS) transfer operations, but after the first one went missing.

There is information that the ship just went south without giving any information.

If the information is confirmed that the ship was attacked that will be a signal for pirate activity expansion in this region.
