TPK Koja Operates Additional Land in This Year End

JAKARTA—The officials of Koja Container Terminal at Tanjung Priok Port targeted an additional field operation for import export stockpiling, an area of three  hectares at the end of 2012.

General Manager of TPK Koja Arif Isnawan said, the stockpiling area which has already existed and operated by TPK Koja is currently an area of ​​22 ha.

“With the addition project, at the end of this year TPK Koja will operate the stockpiling area of ​​25 hectares,” he told Bisnis this afternoon, Thursday (7/6).

He said, the extra land of stockpiling area is in process of technical assistance.

Arif said, in 2013, TPK Koja facilities are expected to serve one million TEUs of containers per year if all the equipment and facility investment programs will have been completed.

“The container equipment investment program has been started. Even, the extra equipment auction process is already in process, including surveys and technical work for additional container yard has also been done,” he said.

The addition of container load equipments at TPK Koja, he said, are container cranes (CC), rubber tired gantry crane (RTG), reach stacker and empty loader, as well as head and chassis truck. “The procurement of container load equipments is also included in the 2012-2013 program investment,” he said.

Arif said, the development of TPK Koja is still possible to anticipate the increased load activities of ocean going through the Port of Tanjung Priok.
