The Biggest Offshore Vessel Finally Completed

CILEGON – Construction of the first biggest aluminum offshore vessel in national shipyard is made through collaboration between PT. Pan Maritime Wira Pawitra, a national trading company, with PT Caputra Mitra Sejati, a national shipbuilding company, which has been completed.

It shows that the local ship production from our shipyard has grown.

Industry Minister MS Hidayat said the national fleet of Indonesian-flagged vessels has increased significantly since the issuance of Presidential Instruction No.5/2005.

The current number of national ship production has reached 11,500 units, or an increase of 5,500 units compared to 6,000 units in 2005.

The increasing needs over vessels will certainly have an impact on the increasing need for maritime industrial components and other support services such as marine coatings and protective, oil, lubricants, marine components, marine safety equipment, marine engines, and others.

“The ability of the national shipbuilding industry, besides constructing new fleet, it also should be able to provide maintenance and repair services with fast ship and quality,” he said at the inauguration types of first largest aluminum offshore vessel produced by local shipyard in Cilegon, Banten province today, Friday (06/12/2013).

According to the plan, the ship will be operated in support of the multinational oil and gas company, namely China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), which operates in Indonesia.
