Pelindo II Eyes IDR130 Billion Profits From Teluk Bayur Port

BUKIT TINGGI, West Sumatra–Teluk Bayur Port in Padang West Sumatra is targeted to generate IDR130 billion profits this year.

Pelindo II President Director RJ Lino stated that the target has been adjusted with the investment valuing IDR600 billion for the period of 2012-2013.

“If all inventories have been completed and started, we target to grab IDR130 billion this year,” he said in the Company’s working meeting for 2013 in Bukit Tinggi, Sumbar, Friday.

The investment also includes the addition of supporting equipments for loading in the container terminal, such as four Luffing Cranes (transport capacity of 48 containers/hr), three Rubber Tire Gantry Cranes, and three Gantry and Luffing Cranes.

With the operation of those modern equipments, the delivery of goods by road is expected to switch to sea transport through Teluk Bayur Port.

“It’s less inexpensive in terms of cost and will surely generate profit to Teluk Bayur,” Lino added
