LCL Tariff Cut 400%

JAKARTA: The handling tariff for general cargo with a status less than container load (LCL) in warehousing facilities at the port of Tanjung Priok was cut by 400% from the previous IDR650,000 per ton/M3 to IDR150,000 per ton/M3, commencing August 1, 2012.

Secretary General of the Association of Temporary Hoarding Field in Indonesia (Aptesindo) Arifin Hadi, said the tariff reduction is aimed at providing affordable and efficient logistics services in the Port of Tanjung Priok.

Previously, he said, the LCL handling tariff that consists of delivery, mechanical and shifting cargo was IDR650.000 per ton/M3, but it is now only IDR150,000 per ton/M3.

“The tariff will be valid on August 1, 2012, it is not based on any agreement and it is business to business only,” he told Bisnis on Tuesday (07/31/2012).

The owners of landfill depot (TPS) in the Port of Tanjung Priok, as he said, hope the tariff reduction will reduce the unclear cost of LCL goods that had been collected by the consolidator forwarder.(T03/TW)
