KPPU probes Pelindo II scams

The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) has looked into complaints about state-owned port operator Pelindo II in Teluk Bayur Port in Padang, West Sumatra.

Pelindo is accused of unfair business practices by requiring port users to deal with services provided by firms it appointed.

“This condition leaves business players with no options although choices are actually available,” , KPPU chairman Nawir Messi said on Wednesday in Jakarta after a meeting at the House of Representatives.

Messi’s team have already questioned stakeholders and conducted a thorough investigation and  are expected reveal their findings in the next three months.
