KBS Operates Three Docks In Cilegon

CILEGON – PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera, subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, officially opens three docks, namely dock III, dock V, and dock VI, road and bridge in Cigading Port, Cilegon, Banten.

“The construction of docks and the facilities is an effort by Krakatau Steel and its subsidiary to improve service for customers,” said President Director Irvan Kamal Hakim, in Cilegon, Friday, as reported by Antara.

The docks are equipped with facilities i.e. two unloader units, a conveyor, directly connected from dock VI to PT Krakatau Posco, intended to endorse operational of joint venture recently opened by the President.

He argued to reinforce its existence as port operating agency regulated by Ministry of Transportation, Regulation No.39/2010, PT KBS will continue improve service facility.

So far, KBS serves KS’ customers and other subsidiaries’ customers with various services such as stevedoring activity, logistic service, land acquirement, warehouse, consolidation center, goods distribution, and activities of multimode transportations including integrated management of land, sea, and air transportations.

PT KBS is now doing activities in more than one terminal. It also operates steam power plant in Jepara and Pacitan to take away coals in the plant.

It also prepares dock I, II, III, and IV, with the aid of four loader ships and two conveyors.

Irvan said through this service, KBS can lure in more vessels, from 1,000 per year to 3,000 or even 4,000 per year until 2017 with amount of cargo reaches 25 million tons per year with revenue more than IDR870 billion per year.
