IMSCB Officially Launch the Patrol Ship KN Kuda Laut 4803

 

The Chief of Indonesian Maritime Security Coordinating Board ‘’Vice Admiral Bambang Suwato’’ officially launched the patrol ship KN Kuda Laut 4803 in PT Batam Expresindo Shipyard, Tanjungguncang on Friday (24/01/2014). Thus, the ship would be positioned at 3rd Task Force Ambon and it was the 3rd ships that have been build by IMSCB.

Moreover, the chief explained that there will be 6 units of patrol ship that expecteo be finished at the end of the 2014. Obviously, 2 units have been operated on the west and central Indonesian territory. ‘’KN Kuda Laut 4803 will be operated on the East Indonesian territory, also the remaining three that still on building process, those three ships were build by PT Citra Shipyard, PT Palindo and Bangka Belitung’’ said the chief.

Clearly, these ships have the length about 48 meters and have the capability to navigate for 3 days with it’s maximum speed (29.7 knots). Also, it equipped with the water cannon which has the range about 100 meters. Later on, it will be equipped with the defense weapon such as 20 MM cannon and hand guns. ‘’Yet, the weaponry was not for combat but for the defense system and it has been proposed to the Ministry of Defense’’ the chief confirmed.

Furthermore, the chief explained that KN Kuda Laut 4803 will be ready to assist the security for the logistic distribution on 2014 election.
