Goods Stacks In Priok Increase Toward Ramadhan

JAKARTA– Indonesia Logistic and Forwarder Association (ALFI) urged Pelindo II and Tanjung Priok port Customs and Excise can reduce crowded container as the rampant goods stacks on terminal 1 at the port.

ALFI DKI Jakarta Vice Chairman Widijanto said Tanjung Priok port hasn’t been spared from container density in lane 1 or terminal as currently yard occupancy ratio of import container at port is above 115%.

“Both institutions must anticipate this sooner. We shouldn’t blame each other, because we got information there are thousands boxes of container piled by their owner in lane 1 but its cargo couldn’t be relocated, so it caused density in the terminal,” he told Bisnis, Wednesday (6/26).

He said the difficulty to reduce import YOR in Tanjung Priok because rampant goods piled have been discussed in meeting at Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs office, early this week involved all stakeholders in the port.
