Tanjungpriok Port Workers Threaten to Strike on December 23 & 24
The planned strike action of Tanjungpriok Port workers which falls on December 23 and 24 is responded casually by the authority of Tanjungpriok Port. The port ensures service will not be interrupted. Even, if the action happens, the ports will take over the cruise.
Head of Tanjung priok Port Authority, Sahat Simatupang asserted that Tanjung priok port service will run as usual. “We are stakeholders will optimize the port activities together,” he expressed, Wednesday (12/18).
Such strike plan was planned to be conducted by 2,700 port workers incorporated in Indonesian Port Labor Union (SPPI) II. They are operational and non-operational workers. The strike will commence on Monday (12/23) at 12 AM if their demands for the replacement of the Director of PT Pelindo II, RJ Lino, ignored.
He added, some of those workers are spread in terminal 1, 2, and 3 of Tanjungpriok Port. “Later on, we’ll do mediation to thwart the strike action,” he finished.
