Proper Facilities Satisfy Tour Participants
The initial voyage of KM Tata Mailau to Raja Ampat attracted maritime tourism lovers. PT Pelni was asked to seriously open maritime tourism voyage to introduce the beauty of Indonesian seas to domestic or foreign tourists.
Acep Usman Abdullah, a tourist from Sukabumi, West Java, appreciated PT Pelni’s effort to promote maritime tourism. According to him, Pelni must try harder to prepare additional quota for foreign tourists. “We are satisfied and lucky to have opportunity to enjoy “Let’s Go to Raja Ampat” voyage. The provided services and facilities are good even for economic class. It must be developed to solve domestic tourist shortage,” Acep said.
Besides proper facilities, Acep said, the provided foods are delicious and vary. According to him, there are no significant differences between the menus for economic class and the two upper classes. “The difference is that we, from economic class, eat using lunch boxes while the passengers of 1st and 2nd class eat using buffet. However, in certain events, we are also invited to eat together with class 1 and 2 in a restaurant. It seems we are in a big family. We are involved in many events,” he said.
Similar with Acep, Darjono from Surabaya, East Java feels satisfied to participate in the tour package. “Principally, the tour Pelni initiated is good. We can understand various obstacles and weaknesses occurring during this 4-day tour,” Darjono said.
The 62-year-old man said it needs good stamina optimally participate in the maritime tourism package. He suggested for physical inspection for those willing to join this tour. “Old people usually have good financial but are hampered by health condition. If Pelni wants to develop its business, the old tourists can be its target. However, it must provide a place for old tourists to enjoy various activities,” he asked.
“Let’s Go to Raja Ampat” tour participant from Bengkulu, Hengki Sunando, added Pelni’s socialization about maritime tourism service needs to be developed. Therefore, he said, foreign tourist domination in some favorable tourism locations like Raja Ampat can be reduced. “I do not know whether Pelni will draw profit or not. However, this kind of effort is really good to be introduced to young generation,” Hengki said. (Rakyat Merdeka)
