Pertagas Niaga Supplies Gas to Pelindo I

JAKARTA – PT Pertagas Niaga will supply gas of 30-35 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) to PT Pelindo I.

This gas supply is realized after both parties signed MoU. The MoU was signed by PT Pertagas Niaga CEO, Jugi Prajogjo, and Pelindo I Business Director, Syahputera S.

Based on the deal, the gas supply from Pertagas Niaga will be used to revive two Pelindo I’s power plants namely PLTMG in Belawan Port and PLTMG in Kuala Tanjung Port.

“This is great trust for Pertagas Niaga to supply gas for Pelindo I’s power plants. Moreover, this cooperation also shows state-owned enterprise (BUMN) synergy which can bring positive contribution,” Jugi said in his official broadcast yesterday.

The gas supply, he said, comes from PT Pertagas’ pipes in North Sumatra. According to the plan, the gas will be distributed in 2016 for Belawan Port and in 2017 for Kuala Tanjung Port. Besides to supply energy needs at ports, these PLTMGs will also supply energy for industrial areas.

“We hope with this cooperation, Pertagas Niaga also succeeds the government’s program to diversify energy and to procure clean, efficient, and eco friendly energy,” Jugi said.

Meanwhile, Pelindo I represented by Development and Planning Director, Iman A. Sulaiman, stated its enthusiasm to realize the MoU. “Pelindo I really concerns to use green energy. I hope with this MoU realization, the energy needs for Pelindo I’s power plants can be met,” he said. (Investor Daily)
