Pelindo III Wants to Build a Seaside Hotel
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III is preparing to build a seaside hotel. The construction will be conducted due to high people’s needs over a place to stay overnight around port area.
“The business expansion is our effort to improve our performance in 2015,” said Pelindo III CEO, Djarwo Surjanto.
According to him, the business strategy will also be conducted since property sector has not been worked on by the firm. Moreover, property business is believed to be able to improve the firm’s revenue.
Djarwo said business expansion in property sector is conducted by forming a subsidiary named PT Pelindo Properti Indonesia (PPI).
He explained to realize the hotel, the firm will utilize Pelindo’s assets located nearby the sea.
In the future, the land located at coast will be a location to build a hotel having 50-100 rooms. “To attract market attention, we will impose affordable tariff for this hotel,” he said.
Djarwo is optimistic that the utilization of the asset will be conducted optimally, especially to expand the firm’s business.
Meanwhile, his office has utilized 500-hectare land. “In the future, we targeted the land will be utilized up to 1,000 hectares,” he said.
On the other hand, according to Djarwo, the market which will be targeted for the hotel is cruise vessel or other vessels’ passengers visiting Surabaya. Currently, the hotel construction still has great prospect.
In addition, many private firms had built hotels in Surabaya, the City of Hero. “Currently, we are expanding our business in port sector. For other sectors, we will see the future condition,” he said. (Rakyat Merdeka)
