Pelindo III Prepares Teluk Lamong
JAKARTA – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III will construct dry bulk facility in Teluk Lamong Terminal in 2015.
Pelindo III Spokesman, Edi Priyanto, said currently, his office is still in preparation phase of 250-meter dry bulk berth construction.
He said the initial phase of Teluk Lamong Terminal development will be conducted in January 2015. “The construction of dry bulk berth is predicted to be completed within 1 year,” he said recently.
It means in 2016, the berth having -14 mLWS draft will be ready to serve vessels carrying international dry bulk.
Edi added his office will also install two ship unloaders facilitated with conveyors and warehouses. In the initial phase, dry bulk warehouses will be built on 8-hectare land.
For the next developmental phase, Teluk Lamong Terminal dry bulk berth will be constructed for 500 meters length facilitated with 4 ship unloaders. The total dry bulk terminal area reaches 26 hectares supported with 36-hectare back up area having 20 million tons capacity.
Pelindo III will cooperate with PT Nusa Prima Logistic as a strategic partner in running dry bulk business.
The firm is a joint firm of PT FKS Multi Agro, PT Charoen Pokhpand Indonesia, and Japfa Comfeed in cattle food and beverage industry. “Three big firms merger is conducted to obtain 70% market in Indonesia,” Edi said.
According to him, cooperation agreement signing was conducted in Sampoerna Agency building, Jakarta on December 23rd 2014. It was attended by board of directors from PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, PT FKS Multi Agro, PT Charoen Pokhpand Indonesia, Japfa Comfeed, and shareholders.
“They see Pelindo III is seriously developing Teluk lamong Terminal with a modern and green port concept so we are really interested in making mutual business,” he said. (Bisnis Indonesia)
