Pelindo II Prepares Special Unloading Area
JAKARTA: Pelindo II is planning to construct additional dock for unloading specific vehicle (commercial car and truck), heavy equipment and spare part for export-import shipping at Kalibaru Terminal project, Tanjung Priok Port
The existing Tanjung Priok Car Terminal (TPT) is very crowded, said Head of TPT unit Bimo Widihatmoko.
Thus, the plan for Kalibaru Terminal also including a car terminal, beside liquid and cargo dock.
“TPT current capacity is 250,000 units per year and it is not enough,” he said today, June 12.
The plan is a respond to potential stagnation at cars terminal at Tanjung Priok port following the high loading and unloading volume since early this year.
To reduce the level of density on the terminal, the unit tries to seek win-win solution by preparing to move the over brengen (OB) to temporary hoarding that is still under supervision of Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise. (T05/aph)
