Mitsui Gets Special Concession In Kalibaru Terminal I
JAKARTA: PT Pelindo II will give privilege and the right to use all facilities to Mitsui & Co. Ltd, a Japanese port operator, as the winner of tender for Kalibaru Terminal I in New Priok Port Jakarta.
According to PT Pelindo II Yan Budi Santoso, Mitsui will also finance the operations and development of Kalibaru terminal I.
“The development funding will be carried out jointly with Mitsui and for this they will get privilege and land facilities,” he told Bisnis, Thursday (2/28/2013).
For the operations, Pelindo II remains as the operator of Kalibaru Terminal I.
Yan stated Mitsui will also support the development of terminal I by providing financing for the procurement of facilities in Kalibaru Terminal I.
As the initial phase, Pelindo II is currently discussing the funding for the development of Kalibaru terminal I and they will also discuss the technical operation soon.
The company has signed memorandum of agreement with Mitsui & Co Ltd as the preferred bidder of PT Pelindo II.
Yan added that Mitsui will become the first partner in Kalibaru terminal and Pelindo II will choose another partners to be the operators in two container terminals and two fuel terminals.
