Makassar Container Port Earns IDR82.7 Billion From Stevedoring
MAKASSAR – PT Terminal Petikemas Makassar (TPM) notes stevedoring activity in Q1/2014 reached 134,194 TEUs worth IDR82.7 billion.
General Manager of TPM Budi Revianto, said the activity increased by 2% than the same period last year.
He argued on average there were 4 vessels anchoring and carrying put stevedoring activity in the port in Q1/2014 with volume of 1,800 containers per day.
“In terms of percentage, the first quarter of this year has reached 22.36% from the target of container productivity in this year, reaching 600,270 TEUs,” he said, Monday (4/14).
This year the subsidiary of PT Pelindo IV will focus on improving service by bringing in 2 units of rubber-tired gantry (RTG), improving IT system, and managing operational area with total investment reaching IDR50 billion.
With additional RTG, the total number of stevedoring equipment in the Makassar port reaches 16 units, supporting 5 units of container crane.
So far, its stevedoring capacity reaches 25 boxes per hour per unit, or accumulatively, it will rise to 200,000 boxes per year per crane.
