Business Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Port Prasetyo said one of the four KM Port Line are ordered from the UK will arrive on 29 September 2012. Even oneother unit (Port Line 1) is already in the shipyard in Batamto test the feasibility.
“Two of the four (Port Line 1-2) will be operated from the port of Merak-Bakauheni, the rest, two more ships, the Port Line 3-4 will be operated by the Port of Tanjung Priok targeted towards Port Lamongan,” said Prasetyo, Sunday (9/23/2012).
He added that the operation of the Port Line 3-4 KM from Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok will cooperate with PT Pelindo II as a port aoperator.
According Prasetyo, with the addition of ship to be operated by two-Bakauheni Peacock and the other twothrough Tanjung Priok to Java, will be able to parse the density at the port of Merak.
“If another peak season, school holidays, during Eid, the end of the year, the vehicle will cross through the Peacock will be very high, so the unavoidable long queues. For that we have decided to operate two shipsfrom Tanjung Priok,” said Prasetyo.
Two KM Port Line which will be operated from Tanjung Priok this, added Prasetyo, will be used to transporttest Eid anticipation towards Java.
