Revised port charges

Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh) have advised that revised port charges to come into effect from 1 July 2013.

These will be applied to all ships calling at Rabigh Port to load/unload crude, refined product, chemical, petrochemical and dry bulk cargo, etc.

Re-opening of jetty, ahead of schedule

Petrochemical Jetty A at Anyer Port, Merak, reopened today (14 May), two days ahead of schedule, as repairs have been completed fasted than expected.

The first vessel comes alongside later today.

Construction of solid handling pier & protection bund

The working period has been extended for the construction of a solid handling pier and protection bund at Ayer Chawan Basin, Jurong Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.59 of 2013, the works are now being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 14 May 13 to 13 November, within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

Construction of the jetty will entail piling, concrete works, installation of walkways, marine fendering system and mooring facilities. Piling and

concrete works will be carried out by work barges.

Construction of the protection sand bund wall will also be carried out within the working area.

Safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft of the project work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

(b) maintain a proper lookout;

(c) proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution;

(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);

and

(e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22, for assistance, if required.
