Mystery Wreckage Located Off US Coast: 2 pieces of a ship, 1 male body, 10 life jackets found
A helicopter of the USCG found the debris and a male body about twenty-two east of the entrance to the St. Johns River.
Aircrew of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission of Florida reported the debris, which include 2 big pieces of a ship; ten life jackets; flares; and 1 oil sheen.
It is still unknown if additional people are in the water or otherwise in distress, but the USCG is responding as though there are.
Continuing to investigate the place of the accident, surrounding the debris field are a boat crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from USCG Station Mayport in Atlantic Beach and a C-130 Hercules airplane from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla.
The Coast Guard Cutter Cormorant is on its way to the place of the accident, and the Coast Guard Cutter Kingfisher is slated to join the search Monday morning.
