4 sailors from South Korea released by pirates

South Korea officials informed that Somali pirates finally have freed 4 sailors from South Korea after 19 months of captivity. This was possible after the pirates received the money they wanted.

A palm oil tanker with 25 sailors was attacked off the coast of Kenya in April last year. Later, Somali pirates released the ship and 21 crew members but did not released the rest four people.

The Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that after a ransom had been paid (by Glory Ship Management Pte. Ltd.) to the pirates the four South Korean sailors were released.

The exact amount of money is not announced. A South Korean navy ship transported the sailors to a safe place.
